LIGHT ADJUSTABLE LENS
The unique feature of this lens implant, is that its power can be adjusted and fine tuned by applying light at a specific wavelength after it is already implanted into the eye. This may improve the accuracy of cataract surgery and make patients less dependent on glasses. There will be a special unit to change the power of the lens and lock it in.

More than 3 million cataract surgeries are done each year in the US with up to 70 percent of the patients requiring glasses for optimal distance vision after the procedure. This is caused by a variety of factors such as wound healing changes, inaccuracies in pre-operative measurements or preexisting corneal astigmatism.
Everyone’s eyes are unique to each individual as a finger print. As a result each person will heal differently after surgery. With the Light Adjustable Lens, the vision correction is done AFTER the eye has healed.
